Shutter Marathi Movie : Trailer

shutter marathiRemake of the popular Malayalam film of the same name, Shutter is directed by Malayalam filmmaker V.K. Prakash. It stars Sachin Khedekar in the lead role of Jitya Bhau along with Sonalee Kulkarni and Amey Wagh.

The film portrays the unexpected incidents happening over two days in the life of middle class family man Jitya Bhau, an oversees returned, in a small town city of Maharashtra.

It is slated to release on the 3rd of July.

Classmates (Marathi Movie): Trailer

Classmates Marathi Poster 3Supposedly inspired by the novel A Wedding in December by Anita Shreve, Lal Jose‘s Malayalam movie Classmates (2006) about a group of classmates from college turning up for a reunion 14 years after their final year, was a smashing success. It went on to be remade in Tamil (Ninaithale Inikkum) and Telugu (Classmates) and neither versions could repeat the success of the Malayalam version. Now Aditya Ajay Sarpotdar who made the enjoyable Narbachi Wadi (2013), returns with the Marathi remake of the film, also called as Classmates itself. Female Characters in Grand Masti and Savita Bhabhi The Movie

Sex comedies are rare in the Indian film industry due to heavy censorship and most filmmakers have to make do with double meaning jokes or physical gags in the name of sex comedies.

I recently watched Grand Masti and I must say I did not enjoy it as much as I loved the first part. The jokes were stale and the gags were not at all entertaining. Natarang -A Marathi Movie Review

The last few years have been good for Marathi Cinema ( barring 2011 ) with big corporates venturing in this field but out of them it is only Zee Talkies which regularly produces Marathi films. The quality of movies have been improving but not to an extent which a viewer wishes for, as mindless comedies and family social dramas still form a large chunk of this industry. Unfortunately movies which do not have backing by production houses like  Zee or Eros are released in very few places.
