Ramji Rao Speaking (1989) is one of the all time best Malayalam comedy films and though an inspired film by itself, it went on to be remade successfully in Tamil (Arangetra Velai), Hindi (Hera Pheri ) and not so successfully in Telugu (Dhanalakshmi I Love You). Ramji Rao Speaking was directed by the dynamic duo Siddique-Lal and the film made the 3 main lead characters-Gopalakrishnan (Mukesh), Balakrishnan (Sai Kumar) and Mannar Mathai (Innocent) very popular.
