Half Ticket is a remake of Kakka Muttai – the Tamil film which had won a lot of accolades when it was released a few years back. It had impressed the classes as well as the masses. The story of two impoverished slum boys with a lot of hope and charm, struck a chord with everyone.
The basic story remains the same, but the setting has been shifted to Mumbai. Half Ticket is about the rising economic inequality in India and how it affects underprivileged children.The official plot outline says: A story of the ‘Have Nots’ struggling to survive in a world of ‘Haves’. The film has been directed by Samit Kakkad who has made Aayna Ka Baayna before, while the screenplay has been adapted into Marathi by Dnyanesh Zoting. The camera department is helmed by Sanjay Memane popular for his work in Shwaas. The two children in the lead role are Shubham More and Vinayak Potdar. Priyanka Bose, Bhau Kadam and Usha Naik also star in the film. Nanu Jaisinghani of Video Palace has produced the film and Foxstar Studios are distributing it.
