This movie on Tarzan begins where most movies on him would end – in the city. Tarzan (Alexandaer Skarsgard) is already in the city as John Clayton- Earl of Greystoke, a brooding and reserved man with his Jane (Margot Robbie). Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz) wants to lure him back to Congo where he can hand him over to Mbonga (king of savages) in exchange for the precious diamonds of Opar. He is well supported by George Washington Williams (Samuel Jackson) who is his assistant to unravel the treacherous plan of King Leopold.
The movie starts slow and picks up pace with action only in the second half. We miss mostly- the brute Tarzan with his sexy Jane that we are used to since childhood. After Batman and Superman it is the turn of Tarzan to be ‘human’ and emotional. The Apes and the elephants come sporadically for a brief period and so do his jungle cries. The CG is good but not as good as Jungle Book.
Overall a good watch, but missed the ‘original’ Tarzan.. Aiyee Aiyee ooo!!!
