The superhero genre has been under much discussion in recent times, with each camp divided over the same. In India, this genre is difficult to establish due to the followings 1) Our Heroes can literally do everything right from dance to fights 2) Most of our superheros are just blessed with divine powers. A plane comes crashing into the seas and a princess jumps in to the save the drowning pilot from his doom. That, my friends, is Wonder Woman taking the plunge to save Warner Bros. and the DC Extended Universe after the misfires it have churned out post Dark Knight Rises. Sure, it was a job for Superman. Or maybe Batman. Or even Joker perhaps. But who would have thought it would eventually take the much ignored yet most popular female superhero to come and set things right for the DC movie franchiseContinue reading “Wonder Woman Movie Review: ‘Amazon’ Grace!”

Marvel may have started this superhero race at the screens near you a decade back, and if their latest offering, Doctor Strange is anything to go by, it is certain that they have no signs of stopping matters anytime soon. For the folks at Marvel Studios surely know how to deliver a solid origin story, and they have done it splendidly well this time too.
There are some things in life that we are never too old to do. Like, feeding fishes, because the way they feed upon the food always fascinates us for some reason, ringing bell of some random doors and running away or enjoying a superhero movie with utmost gusto. Men fantasize more about being a Superhero than Kate Upton, and even though we convince ourselves that these films cater mainly to kids, the legacy of a Superman or a Batman is not something to kid about. They do inspire you in whatever way you see fit. This being said, we don’t really have a superhero. Superman, Neo & Batman should ideally be an inspiration to create our very own superhero. Unfortunately our superhero is a clone of them.

In a first of its kind partnership, Spider-Man will be the first Super Hero ambassador for Earth Hour, the global movement organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), with a message to inspire individuals to use their power to become Super Heroes for the planet.
Andy Ridley, CEO and Co-Founder of Earth Hour, and Jeff Blake, Chairman, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, Sony Pictures Entertainment, made the announcement in conjunction with the launch of Earth Hour Blue – a radical new digital crowdfunding and crowdsourcing platform for the planet, launched to engage people around the world and participants in the famous lights out event, which this year will be held on Saturday March 29, at 8:30pm.
This year, Earth Hour and the hero of the highly anticipated motion picture The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – along with the film’s stars, Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and director Marc Webb – are throwing their support behind Earth Hour Blue, which aims to harness the power of the crowd to raise funds for on-the-ground environmental projects from across the world.
“I’m proud Spider-Man is the first Super Hero ambassador for Earth Hour because he shows we can all be Super Heroes when we realize the power we all have,” says Andrew Garfield, who plays Spider-Man in the upcoming film. “Earth Hour is a movement that has created massive impact around the world, so imagine what we can do this year with Spider-Man by our side.”Continue reading “EARTH HOUR AND SPIDER-MAN JOIN FORCES TO SAVE THE PLANET”
No one needs any introduction about Zack Snyder, director of films like 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch and of course most recently Man of Steel.
Here is Zack Snyder talking exclusively about Superman and Man of Steel.
What is it about Superman that has kept him relevant for 75 years?
He is the first and most powerful and most cleanly mythological superhero. He can fly. He’s got super strength. He wasn’t turned out in a laboratory accident or anything weird like that. It’s like he’s a native superhero, you know. A lot of those superheroes had to buy their superheroeness. They had to build a suit or get bit by a spider or something like that where Superman is like, “No, that’s just how it works. This is how I am. I wish I wasn’t Superman, but I am, so it’s pretty cool.”
What does it mean for you to be directing the film?
I love the character and I love the world building concepts of making, creating this giant universe. It’s really fun to have gotten to this point where people can just enjoy it and spend 2 hours and 20 minutes in the world of Superman. It’s fun for me to let the movie loose like that.Continue reading “In Conversation with Zack Snyder, Director of Man Of Steel”
The curse of the sequels might be broken, but let’s not jump the gun on that. For a change there is finally a sequel which if not exceeds at least matches up to the first part. Take a bow people behind the scenes…take a bow.
Thor returns to another smashing movie and picks up his hammer right where he left it. Witty one liners, the picturesque cinematography, larger than life action sequences and all done in one of the better 3D movies too.
The story begins with a race of beings known as Dark Elves who tried to send the universe into darkness by using the “Aether”. But Asgardians would have none of that and stopped them from doing that. But somehow their evil leader, Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) escapes and vows to return when the time is right. Now the warriors from Asgard have no clue how to destroy the Aether and since it can’t be destroyed, they try to hide it. (Uh-oh!)Continue reading “Thor: The Dark World Movie Review: Simply Amazing”
