He is now back with his latest film,Rani Padmini which is produced by PM Harris and VS Muhammed Althaf and written by Syam Pushkaran and Ravi Sankar. The film features Manju Warrier and Rima Kallingal in the lead, along with Sajitha Madathil, Jinu Joseph, Sreenath Bhasi, Soubin Shahir, Dileesh Pothan, Binu Pappu, Rajitha Madhu, Hareesh Khanna. Leading a family life i.e. being married and later on becoming a parent isn’t easy at all. What looks routine and mundane to many, is actually a daunting task in my opinion. Yes it’s a stage in life that most people go through, whether by choice or design or both. And everyone handles it differently. But does becoming a husband/wife and later on a father/mother change the way you think? Does it affect the way you interact with the rest of your family and friends, or the people around you overall? Does it take away or add anything to your personality overall? And if you change as a person, is it for better or worse? Shutter is a Malayalam movie written and directed by theatre actor and playwright, Joy Mathew. Joy is best known for playing the male lead in John Abraham‘s iconic 1986 Malayalam movie, Amma Ariyan. Starring Lal, Sreenivasan, Vinay Fort, Sajitha Madathil, Riya Saira etc, the film is produced by Saritha Ann Thomas. Hari Nair is the DOP while Shahabaz Aman is the composer , sound design is by Renganath Ravee and Bijith Bala is the editor.
Shutter is a tale set within two days and a night in the city of Kozhikode. The story centres around the mess created by three men — a Gulf Malayali (Lal), a film director (Sreenivasan) and an auto driver (Vinay Fort) — after they meet a strange woman (Sajitha) in bizarre circumstances. The film had its Indian Premiere at the 17th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK )-2012 and International Premiere at the 9th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) in December 2012. At IFFK Shutter won the Silver Crow Pheasant Award for Best Feature Film (Audience Prize). For a short review of the film you can check out this post by Jox John.
