Jatin Pandit revisits Bin Tere after 30 years for son Raahul Jatin

In 1991, Jatin Pandit gave music for the classic chartbuster “Bin Tere Sanam” from the movie Yaara Dildara. After 30 years, he has penned a new original song with the words “Bin Tere” for his son Raahul. Commenting on the same, Raahul said, “Both are very different types of songs. Honestly, I had never even thought about this comparison earlier. It just a twist of fate that both the songs have the words “Bin Tere” in them. My dad and my uncle Lalitji have given some incredible music – today it’s hard to imagine anybody giving so many great songs one after another. I have just started my journey as a musician, as an artist, as a singer. There is a long way to go, and I can never even think of comparing myself to my dad and my uncle. They have done some landmark work, work that is kind of just irreplaceable in today’s day and age. I have composed Bin Tere from my heart and that’s about it. I just hope that everybody likes it.”

Raahul Jatin comes up with his third single- Yaadein Aane Lagi

Raahul Jatin, the multifaceted musical talent has come up with his third single Yaadein Aane Lagi, a ballad sung and composed by him while the lyrics are penned by his father, legendary music director, Jatin Pandit. The melodious romantic number features Raahul and the music production is done by Aditya Dev and Raahul.

US-based actress and model Madison Trunnell features in the song as Raahul’s love interest. The couple is seen romancing in the lush green countryside, a vintage scenic house& beautiful locales in California. The music video was entirely shot in the US with a very limited crew size and following all protocols and guidelines pertaining to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking about the song, Raahul said, “It is a romantic number which I feel would appeal to the youth. Has a very cool vibe. I actually intended to compose another upbeat number but with the general state of affairs, I believe there is melancholy in the air. The world has slowed down and there is uncertainty. I started with high octane notes, but I ditched it altogether because it just did not feel right and I ended up composing a ballad. I got my parents to hear a scratch version of it, my father was very gracious to work on the lyrics and we promptly recorded it. We recorded it in Mumbai during the lockdown. Then when I came to US during the later half of the pandemic, my producer Dr. Sandhu heard the song, and we decided to shoot it.

Talking about the shoot Raahul said, “This is my first video shot outside India. I was a bit apprehensive initially, especially with the ongoing pandemic. However, it all worked out smoothly. We worked with a limited crew and wrapped up the shoot in a record time frame, given the number of locations we covered. We did not even include hairstylist and make-up artist in the crew to keep the head count as minimum as possible. We were all tested prior to the shoot. It was a fun shoot, we were all in-sync and energized& therefore it was a very fulfilling experience. I met Madison for the 1st timebut it didn’t feel like that. She is so pretty, congenial& easy to work with despite not understanding Hindi. My Director Harper has done an amazing job. He was operating the camera, lighting and the drone single handedly. He was like a One Man Army. Shooting this single was a memorable experience that I will always cherish and remember.

The 3.30-minute-long romantic number was shot across San Francisco, Jamestown, Copperopolis, Bay Area and Sonora all flat in one day with a limited crew size of four people including the actors. It will be released by Funk Box in Association with Jatin Pandit.

Speaking about the lyrics, ace music director Jatin Pandit said, “The idea of music has really changed with Raahul’s generation, so I was very surprised when I heard the tune in its raw form. In a strange way it took me back to Pehla Nasha so I offered to help with the lyrics. The concept, melody and even the idea of a slow soft tune is all Raahul’s. I was tempted to meddle with the music a bit, but I refrained because an original composition is always the best”.

Raahul made his musical debut with “Aankhon Ke Ishaare” released by Zee Music and followed it up with a somber and, soulful prayer song “Prabhu Hum Ko Kshama Kar” alongside his father at the outset of Covid-19 pandemic in India.

Legendary Composer Jatin Pandit and his son, Raahul Jatin team up on a spiritual song, ‘Prabhu Hum Ko Shama Kar’

The effort is directed towards awakening collective consciousness in a pandemic world.

Father son duo, Jatin Pandit and Raahul Jatin come together in a never-seen-before collaboration to create a heart wrenching number, appealing to all of humanity to take care of the less fortunate. The song titled Prabhu Hum Ko Shama Kar, poignantly captures the biggest crisis that humanity is suffering – Coronavirus led Covid-19, pandemic.  Penned and composed by ace music director, Jatin Pandit, music produced by Raahul and it is sung by both Jatin and Raahul.

The song was shot at home adhering to all social distancing norms laid by Government of India. It features Jatin and Raahul in white attires as a mark of peace and harmony that they are seeking for the world through the song. The lyrics summarize the suffering of millions of people, loss of livelihood, homes and above all lives. From the depths of their heart they are appealing to the Almighty for a cure and redressal from abject poverty that a large section of people are pushed into due to the pandemic.

Speaking about the song, Jatin Pandit stated, “I had set out to compose a romantic track on the lines of Pehla Nasha upon a request from my producer friend. I have genuinely been very heavy hearted with the situation we are facing today and despite sitting for hours, I just could not get to thinking romantic because this has been weighing upon me. As I kept sitting there, infront of my instruments, all I could think of is how millions of people are suffering all over the country and the world at large. This is when I wrote the song and started humming, when Raahul walked in”.

“I heard my dad humming the melody and I picked up his note book to read the lyrics, I joined him in to sing the song and I realized that this should reach everyone, it must be recorded. I felt a sudden sense of calm and strength while singing the song and instantly felt that everyone needed that dose of calmness and above all strength. We got to the recording and in a few hours Prabhu Hum Ko Shama Kar was reverberating in our studio. I finished the music programming part of the song and it sounded divine”said Raahul while talking about the song.

Visuals used in the song are stock images that were procured and edited alongside the duo’s singing. Raahul Jatin made his debut last year with a single, Aankhon Ke Ishaare released by Zee Music that caught millions of eye-balls.
