War for the Planet of the Apes is a forthcoming American science fiction drama film directed by Matt Reeves and written by Mark Bomback and Reeves. It is a sequel to the 2014 film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the third installment in the Planet of the Apes reboot series. The film stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Gabriel Chavarria, Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer, Amiah Miller, and Terry Notary. Principal photography began on October 14, 2015 in Vancouver. As the year comes to an end, movie buffs every year are tempted to come out with their different best movie lists and we are no different. Every year we publish a couple of such posts written by individual authors which talk about some of the best films from India and globally, leading to several intense and passionate debates, discussions and arguments among fellow movie buffs.

The 2011 film Rise of the Planet of the Apes that resurrected the franchise after a gap of a decade was a huge hit, collecting over 480 million dollars worldwide. It managed to garner mostly favourable reviews as well.
