Visaaranai Movie Review: Brutal yet Realistic Tale That Leaves You Pondering

I have lived across the country in various places, across various states without ever facing any problems in terms of adjusting to the new place. Of course I have been lucky for 2 reasons, for one I have been fortunate enough to be able to blend into any city that I have been part of, without really having any major cultural issues as such to handle. Secondly I never had to struggle for work, accommodation or food wherever I went, which I consider to be an advantage considering that the majority of the people who migrate to other locations, do so in search of better pastures and are not lucky enough to have access to resources easily. Kaakka Muttai Movie Review: A Tamil Film that India Can be Proud Of

Have you ever aspired for something that excited you a lot and despaired of later when you realized it’s out of your reach? For someone it could be a chance to study in that prestigious place overseas, for someone else it could be a dream automobile, for someone else it could be that wonderful villa and so on. But can you feel for and empathise with someone who’s ‘lofty’ aspiration could be something as simple (as we perceive) as owning a pair of sneakers or dining at a fancy restaurant? No I am not getting philosophical on a weekday, far from it. Visaaranai PosterNational Award winning writer-director Vetrimaaran,known for films like Polladhavan (2007) and Aadukalam (2011) is now back with his next film Visaaranai (inquiry) which is produced by him along with Dhanush. Featuring Attakathi Dinesh, Kishore,Aadukalam Murugadoss, Anandhi, Samuthirakani etc, the film is supposedly based on real incidents and is a hard hitting tale of a group of youngsters undergoing a police inquiry. Nedunchalai: Trailer

NedunchalaiN.Krishna shot to fame with his 1st Tamil film as director, Sillunu Oru Kaadhal (2006).Though the film didn’t become a commercial success, it did make headlines because it featured Suriya and Jyothika in the lead and it released during the week that they got married. The film was also noted for its slightly controversial theme and the music by A.R.Rahman. Though N.Krishna had started work finally on his second film Nedunchalai (Highway) in mid 2012, the film has been in the making for quite some time.
