I was channel surfing on a boring day, not sure what I wanted to watch, my eyes fell on “Nobody”. There was Bob Odenkirk, probably lying on the ground, and many fists landing on his contorted face. Images of Saul Goodman from “Better Call Saul” & “Breaking Bad”, who usually got roughed up or picked up by gang members, started popping out of my memory. I had never seen Bob in a movie before, so I felt, this was as good a time as any, to watch a full fledged movie of Bob Odenkirk.

4 years back, when the trailers of Commando showed up, one wasn’t sure whether to be intrigued by the promos, or to dismiss it as yet another mindless actioner. I recently read that there has been a dearth of sci-fi movies. No sirs and madams, there hasn’t. We have plenty of them. What we do have a dearth of is good, stylish and silly premise for blazing guns kind of B-films. It has been a long time since I saw a good action B-flick. There have been Luc Besson movies which try very hard to overcome their B-nature and then there have been movies like “Prince” which just don’t have the heart. It has been some time now since we got a B-action film which could have us munching popcorn and gleefully smile when the guns went off.Continue reading “John Wick (2014) Movie Review: Relentless, Bloody Action”
