First a confession – this time I was not in Goa to attend the IFFI. Some other work ensured my presence in Goa in the last week of November.  And to be in Goa during the time of the international film festival and not to be affected by the same is a crime one can’t accuse me of committing. Hence in between my other commitments, I did sneak out as often as I could and spent as much time as possible to catch up with the festival. And thankfully, I did end up catching a few gems! North-east films splash exuberant cinematic colours at IFFI 2015

A special section ’New Horizons from North-East’ at 46th International Film Festival of India started off with a high-octane performance by Manipuri dance group Laihui. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Festival Director, C. Senthil Rajan along with CEO, Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) Ameya Abhyankar. Film Bazaar 2015 hosted its first ever Film Tourism Workshop

The ninth edition of NFDC Film Bazaar which starts today, hosted its first ever Film Tourism Workshop. This successful workshop was held between November 18 to 20, 2015 as part of NFDC’s objective to promote film tourism and India as a filming destination. The sessions were conducted by International and Indian advisers covering various aspects to create a film friendly environment in the long term and give the tourism sector a boost. IFFI 2015 becomes more exciting internationally with 26 Oscar entries and 120 premieres

Creating a benchmark of showcasing exceptional films from world cinema, the 46th International Film Festival of India will be screening a stellar line-up of official Oscar entries from 26 countries. The festival will also feature 120 premieres in different sections which will represent spectacular International films. Argentina‘s Oscar entry and this year’s biggest Argentinean box office hit, The Clan (El Clan) will be the Closing Film of IFFI 2015. IFFI 2015 to pay homage to Ravindra Jain, Aadesh Shrivastava, K. Balachander and other Indian Cinema stalwarts

In its 46th edition, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will be  paying homage to Dadasaheb Phalke Award winners director K. Balachander and producer D. Ramanaidu and legendary Indian film personalities including illustrious music composers Ravindra Jain, Aadesh Shrivastava; popular actors  Deven Verma, Manorama and Indra Bania; producer Eddida Nageshwar Rao; music composer M.S. Vishwanathan; film directors Nirad Mohapatra from (Odissa) and Bidyut Chakravarty (Assam), in a special Homage section. The homage section pays tribute to the noted film personalities who passed away in the last year. The presence of those who are gone can be profoundly felt when their most memorable films are screened for the ones who long for just another sight.
