After a major triumph last year in the form of Tukaram, the team of Ajit Dalvi-Prashant Dalvi as writers and Chandrakant Kulkarni as a director is back this year with their next film “Aajch Divas Majha(Today Is My Day)’.
Touted to be a political thriller, the film throws light on the tug of war between the IAS officers and the Chief Minister. Vishvashrao Mohite (Sachin Khedekar), Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is an honest politician who cares for the poor. When he accuses a very powerful IAS officer(Mahesh Manjrekar) of malpractice, but the IAS officer turns the table on the CM. What ensues is a fight by the CM to keep his self-esteem alive.

Gajendra Ahire has been a movie-making machine over the years. Over the last ten years or so he has always had at least two films of his releasing each year. The consistency in quality which he has been able to maintain is truly commendable. After his disappointing Hello Jaihind earlier this year he is back with his next film ‘Pipani‘. It is about an American woman who wants to make a film on the farmers in Vidarbha. The suicides of the farmers in Vidarbha has been dealt with
many times in the recent past by marathi filmmakers. But one can expect something fresh from Gajendra Ahire.
Makarand Anaspure stars in the lead role of the farmer who is acting in the film being made by the American woman and Hemangi Kavi plays his wife. Chandrakant Kulkarni, director of the recently released Tukaram
, also has a role in the film. The film is slated to release on October 12th.
