Based on the popular play of the same name, Chandrakant Kulkarni’s Dhyanimani tells the story of Samir (Abhijeet Khandkekar) and Aparna (Mrunmayee Deshpande) who decide to visit Sada (Mahesh Manjrekar) – an ex-student of Samir’s father. Sada lives with his wife Shalini (Ashwini Bhave) and son Mohit in Roha and is working as a project manager for an upcoming resort. Mohit is gone for a picnic when Samir and Aparna arrive. After a major triumph last year in the form of Tukaram, the team of Ajit Dalvi-Prashant Dalvi as writers and Chandrakant Kulkarni as a director is back this year with their next film “Aajch Divas Majha(Today Is My Day)’.
Touted to be a political thriller, the film throws light on the tug of war between the IAS officers and the Chief Minister. Vishvashrao Mohite (Sachin Khedekar), Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is an honest politician who cares for the poor. When he accuses a very powerful IAS officer(Mahesh Manjrekar) of malpractice, but the IAS officer turns the table on the CM. What ensues is a fight by the CM to keep his self-esteem alive.
The 90s actress Ashwini Bhave is also playing the role of the Chief Minister’s wife.
The movie releases on the 25th of January, 2013.
