64th National Film Awards (2017): List of Winners

The 64th National Film Awards for Indian Cinema of 2016 has just been announced a short while ago.  The awards will be distributed in early May this year. Given below is the list of winners-

Best Lyrics: Vairamuthu for ‘Vantha Entha Pakkam’ from ‘Dharma Durai’ (Tamil) and Anupam Roy for ‘Tumi Jaake Bhalo Basho’ from ‘Praktan) (Bengali)

Best Music Direction: Bapu Padmanabha for ‘Allama’ (Kannada), both for songs as well as background score categories

Best Costume: Sachin Lovalekar for ‘Cycle’

Best Choreography: Raju Sundaram for ‘Janatha Garage’

Special Jury Award: Mohanlal for ‘Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol’, ‘Pulimurugan’ and ‘Janatha Garage’

Best Audiography: Christopher Burchell for ‘Remembering Kurdi’-On Location Sound Recordist, Jayadevan Chakkadath for ‘Kaadu Pookunna Neram (Malayalam)- Sound Designer and  Alok De for Ventilator-Re-recordist of final mixed track

Best Film Friendly State Award: Uttar Pradesh (special mention to Jharkhand)

Best Editing: Rameshwar S.Bhagat for ‘Ventilator’ (Marathi)

Best Production Design : Subrata Chakraborthy, Shreyas Khedekar and Amit Ray for ’24’ (Tamil)

Best Film on National Integration: ‘Dikchow Banat Palaax’ (Assamese)

Best Action Direction/Stunt Choreography: Peter Hein for ‘Pulimurugan’ (Malayalam)

Special Mention: Kadwi Hawa, Mukti Bhavan, Adil Hussain for ‘Mukti Bhavan’ and ‘Maj Rati Keteki’ (Assamese) and Sonam Kapoor for ‘Neerja’
