Trailer: Arrival

arrival-movie-poster-88681With films such as Incendies, Prisoners and Sicario, Denis Villeneuve has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting filmmakers of recent times.

Post the acclaimed Sicario, Villeneuve is back with Arrival, a science fiction movie. The film tells the story of a linguist Dr. Louise Banks (Amy Adams) who is recruited by the military to assist them in interpreting alien communications. The film also stars Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. Eric Heisserer (Lights Out, Final Destination 5) has written the film’s screenplay which is adapted from a short story by Ted Chiang titled Story Of Your Life. The film is edited by Joe Walker (Sicario, 12 Years A Slave) while Bradford Young takes over as the cinematographer from Villenueve’s regular collaborator Roger Deakins (Sicario, Prisoners).

Arrival is expected to ‘arrive’ in theaters in U.S and U.K in November this year. Prior to the theatrical release, the film will be screened at Toronto and Venice Film Festival. Will the film be another worthy addition to Villeneuve’s filmography is something only time will tell. Meanwhile, do have a look at the film’s trailer and let us know your views on it.
