Ek Deewana Tha -Trailer

Here’s the trailer of  Ek Deewana Tha, the much awaited Hindi Remake of Gautham Menon’s Tamil Film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa ( VTV ). VTV which was both critically and commercially successful was  also remade into Telugu with a different climax ( Ye Maaye Chesaave ) with Naga Chaitanya and Samantha .This movie also marked collaboration of A.R.Rahman and Gautham Menon for first time and OST of the movie is still popular down south.

Going by visuals shown in the Promo, it seems faithful to the original and the only difference I saw was a love making scene. It is also surprising they have retained Aromale, which was a Malayalam song in both the previous versions.

Considering Gautham’s hindi debut Rehna Hai Tera Dil Main, did not do well at B.O, but has gone on to do extremely well in T.V. and Video circuit, and with ARR’S music along with Prateik this is a film to look forward to.

  1. trailer looks close to the original, and it seems certain that the climax is like the tamil one.. but Prateik’s tone is really pathetic, more than amy jackson, his voice should have been dubbed.. Simbu was so good, that i could place myself in his shoes.. and trisha was equally mesmerising, hope amy lives up to that…

  2. I have mixed feelings about the promo. The promo looks okay. I have my reservations about Prateik and Amy. Hope they re able to pull it off. Simbu was alos pretty much a bu, prior to this. But this film made people sit up and take notice of him > Hopefully something similar will happen with Prateik too. Hope the songs are good. Although the initial feeling is that it isn’t. The good thing is that Gautam Menon is directing it instead of someone else. And also Manu rishi is playing the DOP’s role in the film and writing the dialogues. Although i found the end dialogue in the promo pretty cheesy.
