This thriller directed by David Cronenberg, is based on Academy Award winning Screenplay writer Christopher Hampton’s play The Talking Cure. It is among this year’s most anticipated movies, and was supposed to be the front runner for Golden Lion at the current Venice Film Festival.
The films boasts of two of the finest actors of repute coming together,Michael Fassbender cast as Carl Jung and Viggo Mortensen ( who teams up with David for third time after A History of Violence and Eastern Promises ) who plays the character of Sigmund Freud.
The film looks at the relationship shared between Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud. The promo claims it is based on a true story. We will have to wait to see how much Hollywoodisation has taken over the facts. But one thing is for sure, with David at helm, this would be one of this year’s most riveting drama and strong contender for the Oscar this year.
